To help your group and the teachers prepare for the tutor meetings, we would like you to answer a few questions in between sessions. The following paragraphs list the questions for each of the weeks, please write you answers directly underneath the questions.

After the kick-off - Week 1

  • What are you expecting to learn during the Robots course?

We are expecting to learn how to work in a multidisciplinary group. The challenge here is mainly to show your specific added value to the rest of the group. Furthermore we see it as a challenge to deliver a successful end result with limited information and instructions. Finally, during this course we expect to learn how to think ‘out of the box’.

  • What kind of coaching do you expect?

We are expecting about of the same as the course engineering design. Here you were assigned to one tutor who also attended every meeting. You can ask all your questions to this tutor and he/she will give you some tips when you are getting stuck or moving in the wrong direction with your project.

  • What kind of coaching would you prefer?

We would prefer a coach which whom you have personal contact and which is easy to reach. Being attentive and giving good feedback are required skills for a tutor. Furthermore the answer to the above question also applies to here.

  • What will the coaches expect of you?

We think that the coaches will expect a lot of independence, creative thinking, effort and professionality. Furthermore, it is very important to remain realistic and be able to properly assess whether your technological idea could actually be applied in society.

After the first tutor meeting - Week 2

  • What is the most interesting thing you learned in the coaching meeting of the previous week and why?

The tutors have given us good feedback on several points. First, we should pay more attention to the user; the user has to be fully included in our idea. After all, he/she is ultimately the one who will use our service and determines the quality of our end product. Furthermore the subject of our project should not be too broad; we have to be specific. We also need to determine more clearly what our final result will be. And finally we have to look at the existing techniques; how far is Amazon contemporary?

  • How did you incorporate coaches' feedback of the previous meeting in your project?

We met and discussed all the feedback points with each other. Based on this we started to brainstorm about the user; how can we satisfy them the most? Furthermore we have specified what we actually want to deliver at the end and now we have determined which specific topic our project is about.

  • What new activities did you undertake during this week? What did you learn from these activities?

We started with the model to calculate the time gain with drones. Furthermore the survey has already been drawn op partly and we have brainstormed about a CAD model for the delivery method.

  • What did you do to prepare for next week's meeting?

We wrote down our points for improvement as a result of the feedback and we discussed what we want to show the tutors next meeting to clearly show our progress.

After the second tutor meeting - Week 3

  • What is the most interesting thing you learned in the coaching meeting of the previous week and why?

The subject of our project was still too broad, we tried to incorporate too many aspects of the delivery system into our project, which would mean that the project would be too much work for us.

  • How did you incorporate coaches' feedback of the previous meeting in your project?

We investigated how Amazon wants their delivery system to look, which helped us in determining how to proceed with the project. Also we narrowed down the subject, which is now much more concrete and workable.

  • What new activities did you undertake during this week? What did you learn from these activities?

This week we met and discussed how we wanted to continue with the project, mainly discussing how we could narrow down the subject and making a plan on how to realise the objectives which came from the subject. We also took a look at projects from precious years, which taught us that a small bit of the delivery process can already be enough to fill an entire project.

  • What did you do to prepare for next week's meeting?

For this meeting we prepared the resuls of our discussion, so the narrowed down subject and the plan on how to realise it.

After the third tutor meeting - Week 4

  • What is the most interesting thing you learned in the coaching meeting of the previous week and why?
  • How did you incorporate coaches' feedback of the previous meeting in your project?
  • What new activities did you undertake during this week? What did you learn from these activities?
  • What did you do to prepare for next week's meeting?

The survey should not be constructed in a biased manner. Only asking for the advantages of a certain application is not a correct way to obtain realistic results. The results of the survey can not be the input for the model. The survey is used to obtain a qualitative research result, while the model is used to obtain a quantitative result.

The shape of the questions in the survey have been altered, this way a more neutral survey is achieved. After the changes, the survey has been posted. The problem statement has been made specific and the wiki has been updated. The methods of delivery have been investigated. We contacted Bol.com and PostNL, by doing this we want to increase the accuracy of our assumptions about the current delivery method.

After the fourth tutor meeting - Week 5
