Student(s) Task
Week 1: 01/02/2016 - 07/02/2016
Luuk Write an article about user needs.
Jeroen V Write a piece on users and USE aspects of the smart bedroom.
Jeroen E Describing the idea of the 'Smart Bedroom'
Wesley Preparing presentation.

Looking up background information regarding aspects of the smart bedroom.

Thomas Writing a scenario about the whole system.
All Attend lecture, subsequent meeting and video call
Week 2: 08/02/2016 - 14/02/2016 (Carnival break)
Luuk Prepare for the presentation by making slides about the USE aspects, the users and their needs.
Jeroen E preparing the first presentation
Wesley Finding research papers.

Making a start on the wiki page.

All Attend online meeting.
Week 3: 15/02/2016 - 21/02/2016
Luuk Send an email to dr.ir. Van de Molengraft asking whether it's possible to test the Sleep Cycle app (the app that inspired our idea) with two persons in one room at the TU.

Send an email to the CBS to ask for the percentage of people in the Netherlands that sleeps alone. They replied that they don't have that information.

Jeroen V Create a schematic representation of the code structure by dividing it into modules that can be created and tested separately.
Jeroen E Searching for literature about Apps who measure your sleep cycle and about sleep cycles.

Searching for a proof of correctness of the Apps. I've sent several emails, all Apps said that they don't have any proof or they don't want to give this because of privacy.

Thomas Improve and prepare the presentation.
All Attend lecture, subsequent meeting and video call
Week 4: 22/02/2016 - 28/02/2016
Luuk Write a script for NetLogo which simulates random sleep behavior to be used for testing the model for the smart bedroom.
Wesley summarizing literature

search for visual pictures regarding the literature

adapting the wiki page

Jeroen V Write a function which calculates the light strength of sunlight, based on date and time.

Write a script that models room brightness.

Create a model of the thermal structure of a bedroom.

Jeroen E Searching for literature about the relation between measurable quantities and your sleep phase.

Sent a mail to the Apps if there is a possibility to get the sleep cycle diagram in another output-form, which we can use in our simulation.

Thomas Searching for literature about the effects of light when waking up.
All Attend lecture, subsequent meeting and video call
Week 5: 29/02/2016 - 06/03/2016
Jeroen E Searching for literature about the influence of noise during your sleep, and the type of alarm at waking up.

Improve and specify the planning of the comming weeks

Thomas Make a description of what each function will do, what values will be used and what kind of feedback can be given by the users.
Luuk Write down what the Smart Bedroom will receive as input and how, what it will provide as output and how, how it will receive feedback from its user and what it does with this information.
Wesley Make the measuring plan
All Attend lecture, subsequent meeting and video call
Week 6: 07/03/2016 - 13/03/2016
Jeroen E Gather the equipement and make them ready for the measurements. (Arduino, sound sensor, cables ect.)

Do the first test-measurements during the sleep. Make a Matlab script to process the test-data. Documentation of the explanation of the matlab-scripts and current results.

Luuk Find useful components to make sounds with the Arduino and write a simple script for the output of those sounds.
All Attend lecture, subsequent meeting and video call
Week 7: 14/03/2016 - 20/03/2016
Jeroen E Try to validate the algorithm with the aid of the application. Try to solve to problems by searching on the internet, going to the ICT-service and using other laptops.

Making a algorithm which determined what the best moment of waking up is.

Documentation of the explanation of the matlab-scripts and improved the parts (changes) from previous weeks.
