There are many aspects that need to be considered when developing the mechanical system.

Mini Brainstorm

Stuff to Consider Open/Close Mechanisms Drone Landings
Weather 270-360 Door
Pushed open by the lift inside or opens & closes via motor rotation; could possibly hit drone?
Beacon signal 1
When drone is in range; each pressure sends signal to designated leg for landing?
Does Drone Land or Not? Sliding Door
Opens when drone lands on platform, slides to the side out of the way of the drone
Symbols
Four different symbols on pressure plates to allow orientation of drone & landing locations for the legs?

The door falls away inside the chimney rather than flips out
