This is a paper on how the efficiency of utilising solar power for vehicles is dependent on when the battery gets fully charged. By topping the battery off using a charging station, the utilisation of solar roofs on vehicles is limited since a battery can’t be charged more than 100%. In conclusion charging stations should be used to a lesser extent and more selectively to increase the utility solar roofs provide.

This paper could be useful if the water transport robot were to use a charging station and solar roofs in conjunction.
