This article deals with road detection where roads are poorly delineated, dirt roads being one possible example of this. It can deal with poor resolution images and still give a good result. It uses an evolutionary algorithm. It’s experiments are based purely on simulations. This is a recent article, so care needs to be taken about the computational requirements of the algorithm compared to the price of a processor capable of implementing it.
